INDIFFERENCE is a participatory-reactive installation that blends the physical and digital realms to denounce the impact of lithium extraction and agrochemicals in the Anthropocene. A dried-up tree, set in a bucket for hazardous waste, represents environmental degradation. Hanging from its branches are QR codes that link to a digital tree with two programs: Indifference (agrochemicals) and Fragmented Reality (lithium). Both use fractals—recursive mathematical patterns found in nature—that conceal environmental impacts. When the magnifying glass is pressed, the fractals dissipate, revealing images from public media. The work challenges our indifference to ecosystem collapse.
